About us

We build software for the clerk's office

ClerkMinutes® is a product of HeyGov, Inc., where software is built for local government: serving cities, villages, towns, townships, parishes, and counties all across the US.

We are the same team behind HeyGov and Vanteve.

Why the clerk

So much of a municipality's day crosses the clerk's desk

Agendas, minutes, licenses, permits, records requests, election paperwork, and public notices: nearly every piece of a town's daily work is processed by the clerk, or passes through the clerk's office on its way somewhere else.

Most government software gets sold to a purchasing department, and the clerk is handed a login afterward. We build in the opposite direction. The clerk is the person we design for, the person we listen to, and the person we answer to.

Municipal records including agendas, minutes, permits, records requests, election paperwork, and public notices flowing into one organized inbox.

Our principles

What we believe in when it comes to building solutions for clerks

  • It has to be powerful for clerks

We make software that solves the real problems clerks face daily, or at least on a regular basis: giving back time and some sanity, removing the drudgery, and streamlining the bureaucracy that is typically associated with government.

  • We strive to make it intuitive to use

We spend the extra time to make every tool we build drop-dead simple: easy to use, without the complexity.

  • Above all, we want to make it affordable

You'll notice most of our pricing starts at $99/mo. At that price point, no matter the municipality's size, the budget season, the buying cycle, or the procurement method, it's a no-brainer to sign up for a trial and find the funds for something powerful, intuitive, and purpose-built for clerks.

Where we come from

Midwestern values, through and through

HeyGov is headquartered in Wisconsin. We might be known for cheese, the Packers, and cold weather, but our hospitality is warm and friendly. We say please and thank you, and we try to get back to you as quickly as possible.

We would rather earn your renewal every single year than lock you into a long contract with built-in price increases. Plenty of vendors work that way. We think a handshake you keep re-earning is worth more.

And we plan in decades, not quarters. The goal is simple: carry the tedious parts of the job, so the clerk's work gets a little lighter every year.

Headquartered in Wisconsin, serving local governments all across the country.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers

How can I reach out and get help or assistance?

However you like to ask, there is a door for it, and a real person on the other side:

Why should our municipality trust our agendas, meetings, and minutes to ClerkMinutes?

Because we are not a VC-backed or private-equity-backed rollup that cobbled together a system by buying tools from other providers and retrofitting them behind multiple logins. We are a profitable, independent company that has served local government, and nothing else, since 2007.

We build software for clerks by talking to clerks. That focus is what makes us different: solutions to the real-world problems clerks face on a regular basis, and more than 1,300 cities, villages, towns, and counties working with us today.

What does “built in-house” actually get us?

One login, one support team, and products that were designed to work together from the start. When you call, the people who wrote the software are down the hall, not at a company we bought last year.

See for yourself

The fastest way to understand what we build is to try it. No sales call required, and no credit card either.
